After acquiring good reviews from the users for Galaxy Watch Active, the South Korean tech giant Samsung is again set up to launch a new series of Galaxy Watch, i.e. the Galaxy Watch Active 2. However, the new Active 2 resonates more of practical and innovative design, unlike its predecessor. Samsung has also included touch-sensitive strip in the device which acts as a rotating bezel, the feature which Galaxy Watch Active was missing out.
The digital touch strip on the device adds an elegant feel to its design while it makes more convenient for the user to use it. Also, comparing the screen size, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 adopts a little larger screen than its predecessor. Coming to the size, the watch is available in two dimensions: a 40mm and 44mm one along with two style varieties. One of this is a normal variant with an aluminum body with an FKM strap while the other gets a premium stainless steel body with a leather strap.
Moreover, highlighting on the other updates integrated into the device, the company has claimed that they have improved the features of heart rate monitor and accelerometer in the Galaxy Active 2 while along with it, they have also added support for real-time pace coaching via Bixby AI assistant.
In midst to that, the connectivity option in the smartwatch has also been improved as the Active 2 now connects to the smartphone through Bluetooth 5.0 while also adopts NFC features for easy mobile payments. And not to forget, the watch also gets an in-built GPS functionality to keep track of your workouts without the use of a smartphone.
Coming on to the software side, the Watch Active 2 runs on Tizen OS while it’s compatible in both Android as well as iOS devices. With the new feature integrated into the device named, “My Style”, you can create your own watch faces based on your outfit by taking a photo. In case if you are not in a mood to hold your smartphone for watching YouTube videos, then the Active 2 will get the job done.
Overall, the device is packed with tons of great features which can surely allure the smartwatch lovers and while comparing to its predecessor, the Watch Active 2 has gone quite far in the race.
Price and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 will be available for sale starting September 6 and talking of its pricing, the 40mm aluminum version will come with a price tag of $279 while the 44m size will cost you $299. However, the price for the stainless steel variant has not been unveiled yet.
