The company will offer a Ryzen 4000 series chip in the AMD models whereas Intel models will come in the latest 11th gen CPUs as of reports. The Ryzen 40000 series chip is an upgrade then the 3000 series chip found in the Surface Laptop 3 but it is not the top grade chip AMD can offer. AMD has already announced its 5000 series chip at the start of the year.

Looking at the specification sheet shared by WinFuture it seems apart from the chip there are only a few changes between Surface Laptop 3 and Surface Laptop 4. Looking at the spec sheet both models will have their current 2256 x 1504 and 2496 x 1664 resolution display with a 3:2 aspect ratio in both. RAM maxes out at 32GB but only in the Intel model while the AMD model will max at 16GB only. Storage will max at 1TB but only with the Intel model while the AMD model will max at 512GB.
If the leaks are true Microsoft seems to have bumped up the chips and went with a few changes in its chassis.
