Paramount Motors, the sole distributor for British Motor Company Morris Garage (MG) in Nepal has finally launched the much-anticipated premium C-segment SUV, the MG HS in the Nepali market. The SUV is only launched in a single variant.  

Well, what does the new MG HS SUV arrive with? Let us dig it out.  

Design 

The MG HS inherits a similar design scheme as the ongoing GS and ZS models. The MG HS finds a perfect balance between luxury and sportiness when it comes to its design. Followed by the classical British shoulder line complemented by a muscular design, the HS SUV looks luxurious and premium.  

The SUV flaunts its classic stellar grille up front followed by the lower aluminum bumper at the rear.  

Interior  

The MG HS has pulled in all the premium feel in its interior from its exterior, meaning, the SUV flaunts premium features on the inside too. It is packed with lots of charming features.  

The Two-tone interior with SOFT TOUCH Highlights is eye-catching and unique in every detail. The front sport bucket leather seats in a black and red color theme add more elegance to the interior.  

Additionally, MG has also bucked up HS with a 10.1-inch infotainment system on the front dashboard that supports both Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay. Besides this, you will also be able to fill your ears with a crisp sound system as the SUV is fully loaded with 8 Bose Speakers. Other notable features include heated front seats, keyless entry with push-button start, and so on. 

Adopting turbine shaped air-vents, the MG HS also comes with an automatic climate control system. With the help of a 360-degree camera featured in it, the driver can easily navigate even in narrow and rugged terrains.

The driver’s seat is six-way adjustable while the front passenger seat is 4-way adjustable while all the seats are fully leather stitched. The 64-color ambient lighting dashboard in the SUV makes it even more alluring in terms of looks. And when this is too much to ask for in the SUV, MG has also provided a panoramic sunroof in the HS SUV making it much cooler.  

Engine and Performance 

Powering the MG HS SUV is a massive 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine that churns out a horsepower of 160bhp at 5600rpm along with a peak torque of 250Nm at 1700rpm. Speaking of the gearbox transmission, its engine is paired with a 7-speed automatic gearbox transmission while MG claims HS to attain a top speed of 190 km/hr.

Braking and Suspension 

The suspension in the machine is handled by McPherson struts and stabiliser bar up front followed by an Independent multilink and stabiliser bar suspension at the rear. Similarly, the car is stopped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels.  

MG has provided the HS SUV with 18-inch alloy wheels on both the rear and front. 

Safety Features  

When it comes to the safety line, MG HS also already scored a 5-Star Euro NCAP safety rating last year. The HS SUV is equipped with premium safety features such as 6-airbags, EBS, EBD, ESC, EBA, and so on. Other notable safety features include anti-rolling function, descent control along with lane departure, and blind-spot warning.
