Followed by a certain gap in the smartphone scene, Huawei has finally launched a new foldable smartphone, the Huawei Mate X2 in the market. The new Huawei offering gets radical design with a new system for folding, i.e. the Mate X2 unfolds from the inside of the device. The device has a second screen on the outside which can be used while it is folded, as we had witnessed in the Samsung Galaxy Fold.
More on, as Huawei devices are still under the Google ban, this one won’t be getting support for Google apps and services. This one will still run Android 10 but without the support for Google Play Services.
Huawei Mate X2 Overview
The new Huawei Mate X2 flaunts an 8-inch internal screen with a resolution of 2480x220 pixels while the external screen on the device is 6.45-inches with 2700x1160 resolution. Excitingly, both the internal as well as external screens are OLED and support refresh rates up to 90Hz.
The device is powered by Huawei’s latest flagship, Kirin 9000 chipset which was also used in last year’s Mate 40 Pro. Moreover, you will be getting 8GB of RAM paired with the device’s CPU while there are two options for Internal Storage: 256GB or 512GB.

Highlighting the optics, the new Huawei Mate X2 packs a quad-camera setup on the back which comprises a 50MP wide-angle lens accompanied by a 16MP ultra-wide lens, a 12MP telephoto lens, and an 8MP ‘SuperZoom’ camera that supports 10x optical zoom. Likewise, on the front, the phone captures selfies using its 16MP selfie shooter.
Seemingly, the Huawei Mate X2 is juiced up with a 4400mAh non-removable battery that also supports 55W fast-charging.
