"Preview page" feature is now available in Chrome for Android

Get a glimpse of what the page has to offer without opening the page fully

Finally, the preview web links feature is available for Chrome for Android devices. Now you don't have to open the link in chrome to know what's inside. Chrome received a "preview page" feature through the server-side update which lets you see what's inside the page without opening the page fully.

To use the feature just long-press the link you want to preview then a context menu will appear where you can find a preview page option. Clicking the option will give you a preview of the page without leaving the page you were currently on.

This previewing the page is not a new concept as Safari and Microsoft Edge on iOS already have it. The feature may seem "whatever" for some users but can be really useful for some. The feature gives you a chance of knowing if a page is worthy of your time. Also, the way opening one tab leads to other different tabs these days a simple feature like this will let you know the state of a page. Google has worked for over 2 years on this feature and a lot of improvements might come in the future.
