Can Huawei’s new Hongmeng OS rival against Google’s Android?

After US’ 90-day temporary ban on the Chinese tech giant Huawei, the firm has been struggling a lot for working on its new OS HongMeng. Recently, Huawei has increased its efforts to release a proprietary OS that will be positioned as an alternative Google Android.

The new OS by Huawei is known as “Hongmeng” OS around China while it’s called ‘Ark OS’ around Europe. The company has promised to release its new OS around the end of this year or early 2020.

In this scenario, a common question may arouse in most of our brainbox, i.e.

Can HongMeng OS actually beat the current Google Android?

At the very first, we suppose that without popular apps and developer support, Huawei’s OS could actually be a disaster for most of the smartphone enthusiasts. Similarly, on the other hand, as top app developers around the world are mostly located in various parts of US, this implies that there may also arouse a pressure from the government to the developers for not working on an app for Huawei.

On the contrary, it can also be not claimed that the new Chinese OS may miserably fail as there are tons of people who use Huawei devices in China along with various parts of the globe. In Huawei’ own home market, China, it is somewhat sure that the old Android Mobile OS will be replaced with the new HongMeng because Google’s core services and apps are already banned in communist countries. Similarly, on the other hand, it would be a great deal for the firm to convince Chinese developers to create apps for their own OS. Mostly, the company has to face to issue around European nations around the globe as it is next to impossible for Europeans to convince for using the new OS. Unavailability of the most popular apps such as Gmail, Youtube, Google can actually be a great deal for millions of Google users.

Therefore, the recent scenario reflects that the hype of Huawei’s new OS may be very low around other parts of the globe except for China itself. As smartphone users today mostly rely on or somewhat addicted to Google apps, it can be a nightmare for them to transfer to something new.

In this case, the only way Huawei can create a breakthrough in the scenario is to prove that they have enough users to make their app worthwhile, at least around a million while there should also not be any complication in regarding their app’s privacy and protection.

In conclusion, it is only a matter to wait and watch if the Chinese tech giant can actually turn on the game or not. However, the recent scenario reflects a dark side for the Chinese firm.
