Samsung has unveiled two new camera sensors called the Samsung ISOCELL HP1 and the ISOCELL GN5. the ISOCELL HP1 is the world’s first 200MP smartphone camera sensor, whereas the ISOCELL GN5 is the world’s first 50MP smartphone camera sensor with Dual Pixel Pro autofocus technology.

Samsung ISOCELL HP1
Samsung ISOCELL HP1 is a 1/1.22-inch 200MP sensor with a 0.64μm pixel size. It features an all-new ChameleonCell technology that offers full-pixel rendering, 2×2 pixel binning, or 4×4 pixel binning based on the lighting situation. The ISOCELL HP1 takes 12.5MP photos with 2.65μm pixel size in 4x4 pixel binning mode. It offers 50MP images with 1.28µm pixels size in 2x2 binning mode. 8K video recording at 30 frames per second and 4K videos at 120 frames per second are both supported by the sensor.

Samsung ISOCELL GN5
Samsung ISOCELL GN5 is a 50MP camera sensor, which is the world’s first 50MP smartphone camera sensor with Dual Pixel Pro autofocus technology for all-directional autofocusing. It has a 1/1.57-inch sensor with a 1μm pixel size. It supports 12.5MP images in 2x2 pixel binning mode under low-light conditions. Like the ISOCELL HP1, the GN5 also supports 8K at 30fps and 4K at 120fps video recording. Further, it features Front Deep Trench Isolation (FDTI) technology to absorb as much light as possible inside a pixel and reduces crosstalk for lower noise.
Both these ISOCELL sensors are available for sampling and are expected to feature in smartphones next year.
