Qualcomm has officially announced the Snapdragon 778G chipset. The chipset is a 5G capable processor destined for more mid-range smartphones. Snapdragon 778G is a toned-down version of the Snapdragon 780G processor which was launched back in March.
The processor is built on TSMC’s 6nm process node. Paired with Adreno 642L GPU and a Spectra 570L ISP is a kryo670 CPU. Kryo670 enables 40% higher performance along with incredible power efficiency, whereas Adreno 642L offers 40% faster graphics rendering.
Qualcomm Spectra 570L ISP features a triple camera concurrency which is capable of capturing three 22MP photos with just one click. Further, the processor is capable of capturing HDR10+ videos in over 1 billion shades of color.
The processor also features Snapdragon Elite Gaming which includes Variable Rate Shading (VRS) that allows fast and efficient gameplay. Adding on the Qualcomm Game Quick Touch boosts responsiveness by up to 20% for low latency.
Furthermore, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G comes with features like;

- Reimagined Bluetooth 5.2 audio for a reliable and responsive voice and music
- CAI Compliant Camera – ensures the security & validity of images

Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G is a mid-range chipset and we can expect the Processor to make an appearance in midrange smartphones of brands like Xiaomi, Realme, Oppo, Vivo, and more further down the line.
