OnePlus confirms Dimensity 8100 Max SoC powered OnePlus 10R 5G with 150W SuperVOOC fast charging

OnePlus India has confirmed that the upcoming OnePlus 10R 5G smartphone will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max processor. The company posted a teaser poster on its Twitter stating that the device will feature a variant of Dimensity 8100 SoC and will go official in the Indian market on April 28. Currently, OnePlus has not provided any details about the processor, but it is expected that the new chipset will bring some performance improvements over the existing Dimensity 8100 SoC.

Talking about the normal Dimensity 8100 processor, the chip is fabbed on TSMC's 5 nm process and uses four ARM Cortex-A78 big CPU cores clocked at 2.85GHz and four Cortex-A55 little cores clocked at 2.0GHz. It further features a Mali-G610 MC6 GPU and MediaTek’s fifth-generation AI processing unit, APU 580. We expect the Dimensity 8100 Max to be a slightly tweaked version of this processor.

Apart from the processor, the OnePlus has also confirmed the 150W SuperVOOC fast charging support on the 10R 5G. We’ll learn more about the charging speeds and battery capacity on April 28, when the device will go official.

OnePlus has not revealed much about the OnePlus 10R 5G. But if we are to take the rumors and leaks seriously, then the smartphone will come with a 6.7-inch 120Hz E4 AMOLED display. There will be two sony sensors - a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary lens, 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide lens, and a 16MP Samsung ISOCELL S5K3P9SP lens for selfies. The battery capacity is rumored to be 4500mAh, while the device is expected to boot on Android 12 with OxygenOS on top.
