Moto Edge X30 debuts as the world's first smartphone to be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The smartphone comes in two versions a Standard version and a Special Edition one, which features an under-display camera. Design and Display

Moto Edge X30 features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. As mentioned above, there's two display version of the smartphone - one standard version with a center-punched notch and a Special Edition one with an under-display camera. Either way, both version supports a 144Hz fast refresh rate and up to 576Hz touch sampling rate.

Performance

Under the hood, the Edge X30 packs a flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. According to Motorola, the new processor offers 20% CPU improvement, 30% better GPU scores, and 400% improvement in AI tasks compared to the Snapdragon 888+ chip. The chipset is said to have an AnTuTu score of 1,061,361 points which is the highest score on the platform to date.

Furthermore, the smartphone here runs on MYUI 3.0 based on the Android 12 operating system. It comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

Camera

For optics, this flagship smartphone has a triple rear camera setup. It consists of a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), another 50-megapixel sensor but an ultrawide with 117-degree FoV, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Upfront is a 60-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls, for both notched and the under-display camera versions.

Battery and Others

Moto Edge X30 is fueled by a 5000mAh battery with support for 68-watt fast charging. Motorola claims that the device hits 50% in just 13 minutes. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometrics. Connectivity options on the smartphone include 5G, WiFi 6e, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.

Moto Edge X30 Price and Availability

Moto Edge X30 price in China starts at CNY 3,199 for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model. The smartphone goes up to CNY 3,999 for its under-display Special Edition. The first sales in China are scheduled for December 15. If the smartphone arrives in Nepal, we expect the price to be around Rs.65,000.
