Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO has launched two new premium smartphones called the iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro. The smartphones are the successor to the iQOO 7 series and bring flagship Snapdragon chipset, 120Hz display, and 120W fast charging. Here, we will go through the specifications, features, and the expected price of the iQOO 8 in Nepal.

iQOO 8 starts at CNY 3,799 for the base 8/128GB variant, whereas the iQOO 8 Pro starts at CNY 4,999 for its base variant of 8/256GB in China.

iQOO 8 Overview

Starting with the vanilla iQOO 8, the smartphone brings a 6.56 inches AMOLED display. This 10-bit panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10, and has an FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2376 pixels.

Under the hood, iQOO 8 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. It features up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. Further, the device ships with Origin OS 1.0 on top of Android 11.

iQOO 8 has a triple camera setup at the back and a center punch-hole cutout for a 16MP selfie camera. The triple camera setup features a 48MP Sony IMX598 main sensor, and two 13MP portrait and ultra-wide sensors.

Powering the device is a 4350mAh battery that supports 120-watt fast charging. It has an in-display fingerprint scanner as well as facial recognition for security. Connectivity options include 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, and Bluetooth 5.2.

iQOO 8 starts at CNY 3,799 for the base 8/128GB variant, whereas the higher 12/256GB variant is priced at CNY 4,199. If the device arrives in Nepal, we expect the price to start at Rs.75,000.

iQOO 8 Pro Overview

iQOO 8 Pro features a large 6.76-inch curved AMOLED display. This HDR10+ panel has a 120Hz refresh rate, 20:9 aspect ratio, 92.2 percent screen-to-body ratio, and QHD resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels. The device weighs 202 grams and measures 9.19mm thick.

The smartphone is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset, paired with the Adreno 660 GPU. It comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Like the vanilla iQOO 8, the Pro model also runs on Origin OS 1.0 on top of Android 11.

Moving on to the camera, The iQOO 8 Pro comes with a triple camera setup at the back and a 16MP selfie camera on the center punch-hole notch upfront. The triple camera setup consists of a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with gimbal stabilization, a 48MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 16MP portrait camera.

iQOO 8 Pro has a slightly larger 4,500 mAh battery that supports 120-watt fast charging and 50W fast wireless charging. It has an ultrasonic 3D wide-area in-display fingerprint sensor. Furthermore, it features the same connectivity option of 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, and Bluetooth 5.2.
