Within a week after Hyundai announced the launch of its new SUV, the Hyundai Venue, Mahindra has also started selling its latest SUV, the XUV 300.
Lakshmi Intercontinental is the sole distributor of Hyundai Vehicles in Nepal while Agni Incorporated Pvt. Ltd. is the sole distributor for Mahindra vehicles.
Both of these new SUV models are sub-compact SUVs which in fact can be seen in more number around the Nepali tracks. Here, we have made a quick comparison of both of these vehicles on the basis of their various facets such as design, power, performance, price and more. Well, let’s have a quick look out on that.
Engine
The Mahindra XUV 300 gets a 1.2L Turbo-charged petrol engine which delivers a power of 110PS at 5000rpm while a peak torque of 200Nm at 3500rpm.
Similarly, the 1.5L diesel engine given in the vehicle produces a power of 115PS at 3750rpm while peak torque of 300Nm at 1525rpm. The vehicle’s engine is mated with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
On the other hand, highlighting on Hyundai, the Hyundai Venue is powered by a 1.0 turbo petrol engine while there are other options for 1.2L petrol and 1.4L diesel engine too. The 1.0L Kappa T-GDI engine integrated into the Hyundai Venue delivers a power of 120PS and 175Nm peak torque. The engine is mated with a 7-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) along with manual transmission.
Similarly, the 1.4L diesel engine produces a power of 90PS and 220Nm peak torque. The vehicle’s engine is mated with a 6-speed manual gearbox transmission.
Summing up and contrasting the engine performance of both the SUVs, the Hyundai Venue’s petrol engine more powerful while the Mahindra’s XUV 300’s diesel engine has peak performance.
Dimension and Space
The XUV 300 has length, width, and height of (3995x1770x1617) mm. Similarly, the vehicle has a 2600Nm wheelbase along with 265L boot space.
On the same way, the Hyundai Venue has length, width, and height of (3995x1770x1590) mm. Accordingly, its wheelbase is 2500Nm and has a 300L boot space which is slightly more than the Hyundai Venue.
Special Features
The Hyundai Venue has unique features such as electric sunroof, wireless phone charging, air purifier, and cruise control. More on, the touch screen infotainment system integrated into the vehicle supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
More on, Hyundai Venue is India’s first smart connected car which has been integrated with the latest blue link technology. It has a total of 33 smart connected features along with AI connectivity options such as voice command, location track service, engine safety, and various other features.
Seemingly, speaking of the Mahindra XUV-300, the car gets features such as push-button start, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, fabric upholstery, leather wrap steering wheel, and gear-knob, reverse parking camera guideline, six-way adjustable driver’s seat, auto-headlamp and wipers and more.
Besides that, the car also features electrically foldable ORVMs, one-touch up-down driver side window, 17-inch alloy wheels, projector headlamps, LED DRLs and more.
