Huawei P50 Pro comes in both Snapdragon 888 and Kirin 9000 chipset options

Huawei has finally unveiled its long-awaited P50 series smartphones. Starring the series is the Huawei P50 Pro that brings options for both Snapdragon 888 and Kirin 9000 chipset. Here, we will go through the specifications, features, availability, and expected price of the Huawei P50 Pro in Nepal.

Huawei P50 Pro Overview

Huawei P50 Pro comes with a 6.6 inches curved OLED display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 300Hz touch sampling rate. This HDR-enabled panel has a screen resolution of 1228 x 2700 pixels. Further, the device is 8.5mm thick, weighs, 195 grams, and is IP68 rated dust/water-resistant.

Moving on to the processor, Huawei has provided two chipset options on the P50 Pro. Users can choose either Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 or Kirin 9000. Interestingly both these 5G capable chipsets are limited only to 4G connectivity. The device comes with RAM options of 8GB or 12GB, whereas the storage option here is 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB. On the software front, the P50 Pro comes with HarmonyOS 2.0 out of the box.

Huawei P50 Pro features a Leica-branded quad-camera setup at the back and a center punch-hole cutout on the display for a 13MP selfie camera. The quad setup consists of a 50MP main sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), a 64MP periscope lens with OIS, a 13MP ultrawide, and a 40MP black & white camera. The cameras are also assisted by Laser autofocus and feature XD Fusion Pro, an image fusion system that doubles the amount of gathered light compared to the P40 Pro and increases dynamic range by 28%.

Powering the device is a 4360 mAh battery that supports 66-watt fast charging and 50-watt fast wireless charging. The fingerprint scanner here is an optical under-display sensor. Furthermore, the device supports wireless connectivity of WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.

The Huawei P50 Pro starts at CNY 5,988 for the 8/128GB variant and goes up to CNY 8,488 for the higher 12/512GB variant in China. If the device arrives in Nepal, we expect the price to start around Rs.1,10,000.
