The Suzuki Swift undoubtedly is one of the best selling cars in Nepal. CG | Motorcorp, the authorised distributor of Suzuki cars in Nepal is all set to launch the Swift to Nepal. The Maruti Suzuki will launch the new 2018 Swift by the end of March reports our sources. As with the previous models of the Swift, we can expect only the Petrol variant of the Swift to go on sale in Nepal. 

The existing second-generation Swift is priced at Rs 28.49 lakh for the VXi trim and Rs 31.49 lakh for the top-spec ZXi trim. The new Swift which is built on the all-new HEARTECT platform comes with a lot more features and will be priced marginally higher when it launches in Nepal. 

The new Swift model looks more sporty thanks to the new design language with new front and rear profile. The front fascia of the new Swift features a large hexagonal grille with all-black horizontal slats. Newly designed headlamp with projector lights and LED DRLs on the top of the line Swift ZXi and aggressively designed bumper with large circular fog lamps definitely makes the Swift look striking. 

The side profile of the new Maruti Swift is where you will find the slightest number of changes. The side-profile looks identical to the second-gen Swift and it is no bad thing. The third-gen Swift gets a floating roof design with the window frame mounted door handle which makes the design look clean and clutter-free. We are yet to know whether the new Swift will come with a dual-tone color option or not. 
The rear profile of the new Maruti Swift is where you will find most of the changes. The tail lamps are now all LED (on the top trim) and it looks a lot more premium when compared to its predecessor. At the back, there's the Suzuki logo alongside Swift written on the right. There's no sign of the variant name at the back of the car like its predecessor had.

What's disappointing is the engine choice option on the Swift. The third-gen Maruti Swift is powered by the same existing 1.2-litre petrol that we have seen on the old Swift, Ignis and the Baleno. The engine produces 83bhp and 140Nm of torque. However, this time around, there's an option of either a 5-speed manual gearbox or 5-speed AMT gearbox on offer. The 2018 Maruti Swift is based on the HEARTECT platform which is lighter yet stronger. The same platform underpins the Dzire and the Baleno. Thanks to this revision, the car now weighs 85kg less and there's more boot space too. The rear leg room on the new Swift is also a lot better now as the wheelbase of the car has increased by a little bit.
