Samsung is a very popular name here in Nepal. Primarily famous for its Galaxy phones, the firm also provides other electronic devices like TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, microwaves, and more. After being in the Nepalese market for over two decades, Samsung has finally set up a manufacturing facility in Nepal. So, let’s learn more about it.

Samsung Television Factory in Nepal

If you didn’t know, Samsung laid the foundation for a television factory in Nawalparasi back in August of 2022. Now, months later, Samsung finally inaugurated its TV factory in Nepal. Moreover, this milestone in Nepal’s electronics sector comes as a collaboration between Samsung and its longstanding partner in Nepal, Him Electronics.

Talking about the inauguration ceremony, the Samsung Television Factory in Nepal was inaugurated by Mr. Ramesh Rijal, Minister of Industries, Commerce, and Supplies, and Mr. JB Park, President & CEO, of Samsung Southwest Asia.

Besides, personalities like Mr. Shekhar Golchha, Chairman & MD, Golchha Group, Mr. Park Chong-Suk, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nepal, Mr. Sung June Park, Nepal Branch Head, Samsung Electronics, along with other local dignitaries were also in attendance.

This new television factory with our partners Him Electronics will further deepen our bond with Nepal and underline the work we are doing to strengthen local industry and provide employment opportunities to people here. It will also facilitate the development of skilled manpower. “The cooperation with Samsung exhibits the potential the sector has in Nepal. The largest global electronics company has shown its deep-rooted interest in the Nepali market. With this new manufacturing facility in Nawalparasi, Samsung plans to produce as many as 30,000 television sets in 2023. The total capacity of the assembly plant is said to be around 300,000 units per year. There’s also a possibility that Samsung might start the production of Galaxy phones and other electronic devices in the future.
