<p>There were already some rumors surfaced across the Internet around November of Royal Enfield planning on discontinuing two of its popular 500cc models- the <strong>Classic 500 and Thunderbird 500</strong>. Well, the rumor has now come true as the automaker itself has officially confirmed the news.</p>
<p>The 500cc Royal Enfield had totally been stuck in the middle of its two popular siblings, the 350s model and the Continental GT and Interceptor 650 which had followed leading sales in the year 2019.</p>

<p>According to&nbsp;<em>DriveSpark</em>, the company felt that, at this point, it wasn&rsquo;t worth updating the middleweight engine to make it compliant with the new Indian emission standards. The manufacturer will focus on the 350 and the 650 Twins moving forward.</p>

<p>However, the Royal Enfield dealers have confirmed that these discontinued models will remain on sales until <strong>31<sup>st</sup> March 2020</strong> or until all the units are sold while the 350 and 650 models will be getting an updated engine to meet the pollution standards.</p>
<p>Additionally, according to the reports, the firm will be working on its all-new Classic model which could possibly get a 400cc engine unit. And yes! Definitely the 400cc Classic will be more powerful than the 350cc model.</p>
