Chinese new energy vehicle company BYD has launched a new EV called the "E2" to the public. The company unveiled the new generation E2 EV hatchback.

BYD's E2 was first introduced in the Chinese market in 2019 as a taxi service. The sales of this vehicle were 19,616 units in 2020, which increased to 34,265 units in 2021.

However, the company stopped producing this model in 2022. As a result, the sales of this car decreased to 17,935 units.

The BYD E2 is a compact electric vehicle that offers a range of up to 305 kilometers (190 miles) on a single charge. The car is powered by a 70 kW electric motor that delivers a peak torque of 180 Nm. The battery pack is available in two sizes, 47.5 kWh and 61.9 kWh.

The E2 also comes with various features, including an intelligent key, a sunroof, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a smart voice control system.

It also has advanced safety features like an anti-lock braking system, electronic stability control, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

With the increasing demand for electric vehicles around the world, BYD's new E2 EV could be a game-changer for the Chinese automaker. The car's compact size and impressive range make it an ideal option for urban commuting.

Moreover, the E2's affordable price point, starting at 109,900 yuan ($16,674), is likely to make it an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers.

With the Chinese government's push for EV adoption and incentives for buyers, the E2 could see a significant increase in sales in the coming years.
