Departing from the conventional Land Cruiser ICE models built on a body-frame truck platform, the Land Cruiser Se embraces a purpose-built unibody platform exclusively tailored for electric vehicles.
This electric marvel comes with distinct dimensions, measuring 5151 mm in length, 1989 mm in width, and 1704 mm in height. Compared to its ICE-based counterpart, it stands 229 mm longer while being 152 mm shorter. Its wheelbase of 3050 mm outshines the regular 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser by approximately 203 mm, underscoring its distinctiveness.
Design-wise, the Land Cruiser Se veers away from the boxy aesthetics of its ICE-based predecessor, embracing a sleek, aerodynamic demeanour. Flaunting an angular boat-like design, it features an array of captivating elements: an angled bonnet, a closed grille, slender and stylish headlights, an elongated hood, a gently sloping roofline, and a rounded rear with a distinctive visor tail light design. Inside, Toyota promises a spacious and comfortable cabin, ideal for urban driving experiences.
While specifics about the powertrain remain shrouded in mystery, Toyota tantalizes enthusiasts with the assurance of a high-torque driving experience. Details regarding battery size, motor configuration, or whether it might incorporate dual motors for all-wheel drive capabilities are yet to surface. But given its lineage as a Land Cruiser, such capabilities wouldn't be surprising.
Toyota remains tight-lipped about additional features and specific launch dates for the Land Cruiser Se. However, amidst speculation fueled by competitors like the Rivian R1S, expectations soar for a premium feature set akin to the Rivian model. Despite the absence of a clear production timeline, Toyota's commitment to electrifying the Land Cruiser looms on the horizon, promising an imminent electrifying future for this iconic vehicle.
