Kia Seltos, a subcompact SUV by Kia is soon making its global debut in India. It is, in fact, the company’s first model to be launched in India. This new model by Kia will be manufactured at Kia Motor’s manufacturing unit in Anantapur, India. The new Seltos will fall under a highly competitive segment in India.
The Kia SP Concept was also one of the most trending talks at the 2018 Auto Expo. Well, let’s have a quick glance at what the new upcoming offering by Kia Motors come along with.
Exterior
Firstly, speaking of the exteriors, the small fancy looking mirrors that we get in most of the cars have been replaced by big units. The SUV gets 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 225/45-section Kumho tires.
On the front is a classy looking ‘Tiger Nose’ grille placed between the LED headlights. More on, it sports slim LED fog lamps, pull-type door handles, a chrome finished window line, prominent roof rails, a chrome bar connected to the tails lights and a contrast designed roof at the top.
Interior
Although the detailed features of the Seltos have not been unveiled yet, some recent leaks suggest that the SUV will get a lot of working on mock wood, leather, and aluminum. The steering will be leather wrapped while it also gets Bluetooth control features, volume controls, and cruise control.
However, the speedometer and tachometer of the car still appear to be analog. Similarly, the infotainment system at the front is expected to be bigger in size as the recent interior sketches of the car suggest. The infotainment system will flaunt a 10.25-inch touchscreen widescreen as the leak suggests.
The Kia Seltos is expected to have connected car technologies such as climate control technologies even using a smartphone while also lock/unlock the vehicle in the same way. Features such as 360-degree camera, wireless charging, in-built Wi-Fi, the push-button start will also be included in the Kia Seltos. All in all, the car is designed to meet somewhat all the needs for a top-spec variant.
Engine Options
The Kia Seltos is expected to come with 1.5-liter petrol and 1.5-liter diesel engine. There will also be the choice for manual as well as automatic gearboxes. The recent news also suggests the Kia is working for a much sportier version of the car which could come with 140bhp, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine which will be mated with a 7-speed automatic gearbox and paddle shifters.
Also, the vehicle is expected to get drive mode selector for “Off-Road” which implies that it will somewhat be ready to tackle off-road too.
Price and Availability
The new Kia Seltos is going to launch on 20th June 2019 within few days in India. While talking about the price,

After the launch of the car in India, it may soon be available in Nepal too while the launch date in Nepal has not been unveiled yet.
