<p>With over 170 coronavirus cases currently reported in India, many auto dealerships across various states of India have temporarily shut down their operation. The state government in these states had notified auto dealers across Ganjam, Orissa and other states to temporarily shut off their showrooms.</p>
<p>This measure has been applied to prevent the spread of deadly coronavirus which has created a massive panic across the globe. As the cases of the coronavirus in India has also been increasing at a high pace, the government of India has been applying all the necessary measures to stop the outbreak of the virus. Many institutions, schools, colleges, cinema halls, and more have already been closed.</p>
<h3><em><strong>Impact on Auto Industry</strong></em></h3>
<p>In the area of the auto industry too, this global pandemic is hitting a huge economic consequence. As dealerships are slowly getting closed while most of the people are following quarantine practices and social distancing, the flow of customers in car and bike showrooms has decreased a lot.</p>
<p>And as per the Supreme Court, it has not allowed the sales and registration of BS4 compliant vehicles to the auto dealers till April 1st. This would result in an unsold inventory of BS4 vehicles across the dealerships. Although most of the new cars and motorcycles are supplied with the BS6 engine, the previous BS4 compliant vehicles inventory will still remain unsold.</p>

<p>According to <strong>FADA (Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations)</strong>, the sales have fallen by 60-70% in recent times following the new coronavirus pandemic. As people are staying at home and indulged in social distancing, there is a very less likely chance for auto dealers to have walk-in sales. And this situation is further estimated to worsen in the coming days as major towns and cities in the country have already been facing lockdown due to virus spread.</p>
